FRP Cooling Tower

FANLESS COOLING TOWER

Fanless or Fillless Cooling Towers, also known as FRP/Natural Traditional Cooling Towers, operate without the use of a fan or fill material to cool the water. This unique design relies on the natural elements to cool the water within the tower.

In the case of timber atmospheric or fanless cooling towers, treated wooden louvers were traditionally used as side walls to prevent water spillage and allow outside wind to pass through the tower, serving as the cooling medium. Similarly, in FRP fanless/natural draft/fillless cooling towers, FRP louvers are used instead of timber louvers. This design provides an economical cooling solution.

Fanless cooling towers operate by spraying hot water at the top of the tower using spray nozzles, creating small droplets or mists. These droplets then interact with the atmospheric wind flow, allowing the water to cool naturally. This design eliminates the need for fans or electric motors, resulting in lower operating and maintenance costs. It is also highly energy-efficient, offering a favorable payback compared to other cooling tower models.

Additionally, fanless cooling towers generate minimal noise since they lack fans, motors, gearboxes, and drive shafts, which are typically the sources of noise and vibration in other cooling tower designs. This makes fanless cooling towers a quiet and hassle-free cooling solution.

Overall, fanless or fill less cooling towers provide an economically efficient, energy-efficient, and low-noise cooling option that takes advantage of natural airflows for effective water cooling.
