FRP Cooling Tower

FRM Series

Introducing our new design that combines the benefits of FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) with RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) cooling towers. With a capacity of up to 3000 CMH (Cubic Meters per Hour) per cell, this design has been a resounding success in Process Industries and Captive Power Plants, ranging from 2 MW to 20 MW in capacity. With over 1000 towers installed, it has proven its reliability and performance.

Design Advantage:

  • Motor and Gearbox Direct Coupling: The motor and gearbox are directly coupled on a common mounting frame supported by a center RCC column. This eliminates vibrations caused by misalignment of the transmission shaft between the motor and gearbox.
  • Independent FRP Casing and Fan Section: The unique concept of a center RCC column allows the FRP casing and FRP fan section to be kept separate from the rotating parts like the gearbox, motor, and fan. This ensures stability and enhances overall performance.

Cost Advantage:

  • Lower RCC Construction Cost: The onsite RCC construction cost is significantly reduced as the casing is pre-manufactured in FRP at the factory and assembled at the site.
  • Reduced Operating Costs: These towers have lower operating costs due to reduced power consumption. Extra quantities of fills are provided, increasing the wetted surface area and enhancing cooling efficiency.

Salient Features:

  • RCC Basin and Air Entry Portion: The basin and air entry portion are constructed using RCC for robustness.
  • FRP Casing and Fan Section: The casing and fan section are made of FRP, providing durability and corrosion resistance.
  • Load Distribution: The entire load of PVC fills rests on the sturdy RCC structure, relieving any load on the FRP casing.
  • Versatile Fill Options: For contaminated water or water with suspended particles, PVC fills with a flute size of 19mm can be used.
  • Motor and Fan Specifications: The motor operates at 1500 RPM, 415V TEFC (Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled), and is weatherproof with a horizontal foot-mounted configuration. The fan is an axial flow type with FRP blades and a dynamically balanced hub rotating at 288 RPM.
